The 2019 Annual Richard A. Perry Golf Tournament
The annual Richard A. Perry Golf Tournament presented by Sherwin-Williams and hosted by ProGroup Contracting was held on October 4th at the Country Club of New Bedford in Dartmouth, MA. The tournament, which has been ongoing for 14 years, helps raise funds for local charities and youth programs.
This year’s charity was the Specialized Education for All Learners (S.E.A.L.) Foundation. This foundation provides funding for specialized education in non-public school settings so that all children, even those who learn in different ways, can be afforded the opportunity to attend a school of their choice.
The 2018 Annual Richard A. Perry Golf Tournament
We held our annual Richard A. Perry Golf Tournament to raise funds for the community and youth programs in our area. It is also a great way to get the community involved and raise awareness about our community outreach efforts. This year’s tournament raised close to $25K to be used towards the community programs we are involved in throughout the year. We cannot thank the sponsors and players enough for their generosity.
December 2018 – Hathaway Elementary School Holiday Gift Donation
One of our favorite holiday traditions is giving back to the young kids in our community. This year, we surprised over 300 kids at Hathaway Elementary School with gift bags full of surprises! There is nothing better than seeing their smiling faces!
December 2017 – Campbell Elementary School Holiday Gift Donation
We had the privilege of visiting Campbell Elementary in New Bedford and donating 282 bags of gifts and sweatshirts for the entire school. It was an absolute joy seeing the smiles on all the kids’ faces. It definitely put us in the Holiday spirit!
Holiday Wish Campaign
The Holiday Wish Campaign Program is all about working to make the holidays brighter for local families who have had one of the hardest years of their lives. When we heard Marco’s story, a young boy who attends GNBR Voc-Tech, we instantly knew we wanted to help. From losing his mother back in May to now dealing with hunger since his mother was the one who cooked in the family, Marco is left to fend for himself as his father works from dawn to dusk. It was our mission to give Marco a Christmas he will never forget.
Our team surprised Marco at his school with some holiday cheer! There was an iPad, a Bluetooth speaker, and gift cards for clothes and food, including $500 to Dick’s Sporting Goods and another to Market Basket, as well as a gas gift card to help his father out and so much more. Marco was most certainly hooked up.
Watch below to hear Marco’s story and interview with Fun 107!
Operation Food Drop
Operation Food Drop benefits the United Way of Greater New Bedford’s Hunger Heroes Program. Everyone in our office chipped in and collected non-perishable items to donate to the Hunger Heroes Program. The goal of this program was to create 1,000 Thanksgiving baskets for the families in our community and help provide the Thanksgiving experience they deserve. All the donations we received were dropped off at Buttonwood Park on behalf of ProGroup Contracting!
Power Scholar Academy
We teamed up with WBSM and the YMCA Southcoast to help ensure academic and enrichment learning opportunities are available for the most at-risk students in our community. Power Scholar Academy is a full day, five week long program that allows each scholar to participate in academic courses and enrichment activities over the summer. Selected students (K-7th) are low income in New Bedford who do not have summer programs available to them and are at risk of regression. We want to help close the education gap and give these kids a wonderful opportunity. We not only sponsored this program, but we got to attend for a day and see this program in action!
We surprised the YMCA staff with a $500 check to send one scholar to all 5 weeks of the program!
Little League Baseball is back, and so is Fun 107’s Little Big League!
The Michael Rock Show will be visiting one Southcoast Little League game each month this season. When they show up at the game, they bring the Hollywood. Kids can pick their own “walk-up” songs, we’ll announce the names and numbers of the players, and give away prizes to the game’s MVP.
Along with a chance to have Fun 107’s Michael Rock Show announce at your child’s Little League game, we held a contest to find the Southcoast Home Run King! We provided the winner with a unforgettable Fenway Park experience!
The 2018 Southcoast Home Run King winner is, Donovan! Along with Fun 107 and ProGroup Contracting, Donavan and his father got to experience Fenway Park in Style!
Fenway Park Experience consisted of:
- Escorted to and from the game in a limo

Lemonade Day Southcoast is on a mission to teach your kids self-reliance and entrepreneurial skills and build the next generation of business leaders, volunteers, and forward thinkers. From Somerset to Mattapoisett, we want to see kids be their own boss and operate their own business on the first Saturday in May each year.
We were the Champion Sponsor of this year’s Lemonade Day SouthCoast. This was the fifth year for Lemonade Day Southcoast and was by far the biggest and best one yet. The event was held on Saturday, May 4th

Keith Middle School – Sweatshirt Donation
Our local schools are very close to our hearts. In recent years, New Bedford High has experience a significant decrease in enrollment due to the “school of choice” option that has been put in place. With the hope to promote New Bedford pride, and encourage students to attend New Bedford High School, we donated New Bedford Whalers sweatshirts to each student who attends Keith Middle School. That is a total of 949 sweatshirts!

Homes For Our Troops
Sgt. Christopher Gomes, was a heavy equipment operator with the 54th Engineer Battalion. On Oct. 29, 2008, while traveling back to his base in southern Baghdad, Iraq, his vehicle was struck with four explosively formed projectiles. The blast resulted in the loss of his right leg, and severe damage to his left.
We were given the opportunity to provide our painting services on the custom-built home Sgt. Gomes is receiving in East Freetown, MA during the spring/summer of 2016. Of course we said yes right away! We are extremely happy to be a part of such a wonderful project that is happening so close to home.
